Daddy's B-Day...& Soccer! Brings back Memories!

We had a nice dinner Friday night at Giorgio's then headed home to celebrate with the kids... we enjoyed a yummy ice cream cake the girls picked out:

Keelyn had a blast yesterday at soccer. It is going to take a little coaxing for Ryley as she's afraid she'll get hurt.. I guess I would be too if I was a skinny little minnie!

Here is a great video of Keelyn GOING RIGHT AFTER THAT BALL! Way to go GIRL! P.S. she's # 9.

THAT S.O.B!

So, I'm going to go back a few weeks - as it's been a while since I posted.. On Thursday 8/8, I go to this meeting for Delaney's new school. Had to take Addy since it was bedtime and thought the car ride would put her to sleep. WRONG.. I was at the meeting for 1 1/2 hours when I realized I only was able to listen to about 20 minutes of what they were talking about, so I figured it was best to leave. Next thought, well, now I have the ride home.. for sure Addy would fall asleep!?? WRONG again. I figured, I might as well grab a few things at the grocery store that we desperately needed. I head home around 9:15 pm. After putting the groceries away, I head up to put the girls to bed. Soon after I finally sit my butt down.. I hear MANY BLOOD CURDLING screams from Keelyn and Ryley. As I get closer to their room I finally make out what they are screaming "THERE'S A BAT FLYING AROUND IN HERE!!!!!!" SON OF A BITCH!!! And THANK GOD, Jack was home. I scream down to him (needless to say no one was going to sleep any time soon) JACK, GET UP HERE, THERE'S A BAT IN THE GIRLS ROOM!!!! He comes running up... semi-closes their bedroom door and yells for the girls to get on the floor and crawl out. HA! just like a commando video! As they creep out.. he slams the door behind them. Now, everyone is up in arms. I am completely freaked out - all the girls kept saying was "I COULD SEE HIS RED EYES" ugh! Finally after about 30 minutes the house was quiet again (i.e. all kids asleep). SO, for the next GD 2 freakin' hours... Jack and I are trying to get the damn bat out of the house. We managed to get it in the upstairs hallway, with all the doors shut and that pain in the ass would only fly around the ceiling and continually land on the door frames! We had the front doors open for the whole 2 hours, threw shoes, socks, every towel I had in the kitchen at the damn thing.. and NOTHING got him to fly DOWN and out the door! Jack finally got a wet washcloth from the tub and just perfectly hit the damn thing while it was hanging upside down on the door frame above the computer room door. It landed right on top of it and was heavy enough to BRING THE BITCH down ;-). We threw 82 (exaggeration) towels on top of him, put MY USELESS BAT NET under all of it and threw it all out the door. Well, then, I was like SHIT! the damn thing is going to suffocate and die under all the towels. SO, Jack gets the broomstick and tries to flip to towels off the thing. Finally just like out of a horror movie.. we see the nasty things arms pulling itself out of there! I had to take pictures so the girls KNEW it was gone.. and here he is.. the little SOB!

NASTY NASTY NASTY!!!!

2 days after that ordeal, was Keelyn's 8th Birthday celebration... she wanted a Wii party, so we allowed her to have a few friends over to play Wii and with a time LIMIT! 12-3, everyone had lots of fun, enjoyed each other and she got a small amount of gifts. It was really nice to not have the big ole' adult BBQ after. Although, we did go hang out at Susies house and wish her a big old Happy Birfday later on that night! It was nice to catch up with Susie - and see everyone - there are always lots of laughs over there! It is very nice of her to invite the WHOLE Flynn clan over!!

Here is my POOR POOR try at a Wii remote cake:

at least it was YUMMMMMMY!

Here is a photo of Keelyn and (SOME) of her friends:

Whew... so after that (Sunday)... we went and hung out with Mike at his new pool.. boy the girls love it! This video cracks me up!

Delaney also had a blast sitting on Daddy going on the WAVE RIDE :-)

It has been quiet since then, Jack was away all this past week in PA, so Sat. we arranged for a babysitter for the WHOLE DAY and went to Mike's to celebrate his 40th b-day. BOY OH BOY, we had FUN. Good friends, lots of laughs and no interruptions! I just wish we were able to stay a little later. Everyone was having a lot of fun and we had to head home to relieve the babysitter of her 6 hour duty! The girls had a great time, Addy was great, the day was perfect. I'm so happy we've finally found a sitter I can trust and know my kids enjoy. She kept them busy the whole day. THANKS AGAIN BRITTNEY!!!! Looking forward to our next outing!

I was only able to take 2 pictures before I was pulled in the pool by Mike.. so here they are....

Well, everyone is asleep... I hope to hit the gym tomorrow morning. Then Ryley has her ice cream social at her new 1st grade school at 3:30. Wish us luck! She's psyched she has the same teacher for 1st grade as Keelyn had. Then... SCHOOL STARTS WEDNESDAY!!!!! Delaney won't start until 9/4, but Keelyn and Ryley will be gone all day starting Wed!

oh, I had to post this picture.. I think it is hysterical! I just took it today of Addy.. that silly girl!

Vacation is OVER :-(

We had a FANTASTIC week of vacation down the Jersey Shore. We visited with Jacks brother (Mike) and wife (Julie) and their 3 boys. Unfortunately, I was sick when we left (head cold..etc) and I think EVERY FLYNN got sick!

We got through it though with perfect weather. Pool and beach every day. I can't believe I didn't have to think of what we had to do on "wed" then who was coming over on "thurs". you know what I mean? CLEAR HEAD!!! That is so unusual for me, I have to gloat about it! The girls all had a blast! It was so nice to spend QUALITY time together.. walking on the beach, picking out sea glass and "perfect" shells. Delaney cracked me up.. boy I love that one! one day we were walking along the beach and there were jelly fish all over.. it was the cutest thing when she picked up every one of them in her path as if it was the FIRST one she saw. There were HUNDREDS and out of the 30 or so she picked up it was as if, that was the only 30 on the beach! A memory I'll cherish! Here is a FANTASTIC video of her in her own little world enjoying her perfect vacation... melts my heart.... until the screaming baby!

We got to see Ann Marie and Joe (old friends of Jacks) and their kids -unfortunately that was the ONE day we had thunderstorms in the afternoon so we were all stuck inside!- photo below:

We also got to see Auntie Tina and her friend Carol.. check out that photo.. they (and Julie) helped Jack cook a wonderful meal for my b-day!! grilled food! YUMMMMM!

Here are some of my favorite pictures of our 2008 Shore vacation:

Oh, and did I mention.. I WAS THE FIRST ONE TO CATCH A FISH!??!?!?!?

LASTLY.. Love this one...

On the way home we stopped in to see Auntie Teresa and Scott and NEW BABY Grayson and Brighton! It was like HOME AWAY from home visiting with them. I only wish I wasn't obsessed with getting them sick since I was sick part of our vacation week (and runny nose while visiting!) I was dying to hold that little chunka love.. but was deathly afraid of getting him sick! Here are some super cute pictures of that visit. Oh, and the home cooked dinner..... and ... smores... mmmmmm, mmmmmmm, mmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Love you guys!!

Super cute!!!

Saturday night Post

I can't believe how these Summer vacation days are passing by so quickly. Keelyn just finished her second week of camp at Peabody Mill Environmental Center - in Amherst. She "liked" the first week - which was called Colors of Nature. She really enjoys being outside and was INside more than OUTside, so it wasn't as fun as she thought. This past week she love love loved WET & WILD (again - she took it last year and loved it too!) They scour the land looking for "water" animals (newts, salamanders, frogs, fish..etc). The week ended with them making fishing rods to fish (unsuccessfully) on Friday. Next week, Ryley heads off to camp. She is taking a class called OUT OF THIS WORLD. Sounds like lots of fun. She will make and launch a rocket!

Jack was in MN all last week.. the traveling is really getting to all of us. By the end of the day when I desperately need a BREAK, I have at least another 3 hours before everyone is in bed! One great thing out of it was the Amherst fireworks were canceled on the 4th (3rd of July) and were rescheduled for last night (Friday). Jack wasn't due home until after midnight. He called around 7:15 and said he got on an earlier flight and will meet us by around 8:30. The girls were so happy. It was a great surprise at the end of the week.

Addy has gotten another tooth! That makes 4 (2 top and 2 bottom). She absolutely refuses to eat baby food! AND loves her food! She pulls herself up on everything. Although when I hold her hands to walk she seems to not be too interested. She had her 9 month visit a week ago. She was 21.6 lbs and 29" long (they think the nurse at her 6 month visit was wrong as they wrote 29" long at that visit!??!!) Anyway, she is almost off the chart for both her weight and height! Tooo funny to me given the fact all the other girls were little skinny mini's! What do YOU think??? :

I have some great recent photos. It is amazing how I can NOW see the light that things only will continue to get easier .. 4 kids is a 16 hour a day job!!!

My friend Teresa had her 2nd little (BIG) bundle of joy! Grayson Porter was born last Monday 7/7 and arrived weighing 9 lbs 4 oz. and was 22 inches long! Check him out:

Here is a great picture of the Animal Adventure show we went to last week at the library:

Some misc. super cute pictures:

This was at Mike Kacos' new pool - we hung out there on July 4th

I love this one of Addy taken today:
